I planned for 2 days Trip from Tokyo. It took us around
2.5hrs by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Yamagata Station. Ski resorts are on top of
mountains so we took another 40 Mins journey to reach ski resort station. Shuttle buses are available till hotels
We stayed in Shikino Hotel which is just 5 Mins walk from Zao Ski
Resort. I would say this is one of costliest Trip I had inside Japan that too
for 2 days. We can cover this place in minimum budget as well but it depends on
where we stay.
Minimum of 33000 Yen we can keep as budget *
Before heading to Zao Ski resort in Yamagata Station
itself we can find offers for Rope way tickets to see Juhyo (Snow Monsters or Rime
on Trees)
We got an offer for 3100 yen which includes Round Trip from
Yamagata Station to Ski Resort Station and Round Trip for Rope way.Rope way station is called as Sanroku Station. In this Rope
you can see 360 degree view around the mountain
Cherry fruit, Things made of Cherry fruit, Rusk, Imo Nabe and
Tamago Konyaku are the very famous eatables from Yamagata Prefecture

Once we reach Juhyo station we can enjoy snow monsters /Rime on Trees . below is the love bell on top of the mountain.
Statue of Zao Jizosan at the top of Mt.Jizo, The statue was almost fully covered by snow.
Former Yamagata Prefectural Office , now it is a museum which displays the things used in olden days
The day when we visited some cultural events were going on, they gave us an opportunity to wear Kimono, they helped to us to wear the same

The day I went unfortunately was not a perfect day i would say, it was heavy storm and most of the Snow monsters are gone.There was a view point located on top of mountain, you can enjoy Nice view of Mountains around
This place suppose to be lot of snow monster , due to bad weather snow was washed away, only half of snow monsters we experienced
The Snow cat can be accessed in the night time to view the snow monsters in Night View, Traveling in this was really scary since they drive this vehicle in Deep slope as well
