Mt
Fuji 3776m
The beauty and Icon of Japan, once you climb Mt Fuji you will have lifetime memory. Mt Fuji is open for climbers only in summer (July to September). Climbers have an option to choose the Trial in which they want to climb; it is also based on from which part of Japan you are climbing.
Here the climbing is on our own from 6th station. keep more 100Yen coins to pay for toilet etc. None of the Rest House will allow you inside until you pay the money. From 5th Station to Summit there was always a Rest House, water and some snacks you can get and paid Toilets (200 Yen). To make souvenir remarkable people buy sticks on various size and get stamp at each station/level (300-500 yen per Stamp)
From 5th station to 7th station was like normal slopes to rocky slopes. 7th to 8th station of hiking you will really know you will make it summit or not. Those who cannot make it to the summit can stay at 8th station, see the Sun rise and Climb down.
From 8th station the real Climbing starts and really you will literally crawl on the rocks to climb up. I felt good in one way that I didn’t see downhill while climbing up.
levels will be like (8.1,8.2 upto old 8.5 , New 8.5) before 9th station. It was one of the rest houses at level 8/8th station. Once you cross 8th to 9th station, I am sure you can make to Summit to see Sunrise if it is not too much crowded. we reached the Summit around 1.40am.Staying in the summit on early morning was the very difficult part, because temperature falls below 0 degree. Rest house in Summit opens only by 4 o clock.
Slowly the beauty of the Sun shown up
We celebrated our victory by enjoying the Sun rise from the Highest peak of Japan
At the Summit Kusushi Jinja you can get your final Stamp
These rest houses in the Summit can be reserved via online. If you go via Japanese Group , I am sure they will book on behalf of us.
Once you reach the summit your target will be to reach back the point where you have started, it is natural that climbing up was not so difficult than climbing down. Many people will get scared when they start to climb down , but you will get used to it. Climb down slowly
While climbing down you will not have any rest house, save water while climbing down
It will be full of Jig Zag path of empty land.
While at the summit you can get post card on various types and you can post from Mt Fuji not only inside japan but outside also. Either you can post it while climbing down or shop keeper will post on behalf of us with extra charge.
Once you reach station 6 while descending you will have various options to reach station 5, if you are not able to walk.

Climbing
Mt Fuji is not only popular among Japanese but also popular among foreigners.
You can see people of all ages from Kids to elderly people. Yoshida, Gotemba, Fujinomiya and Yoshida are the different trials.
When I climbed we choose Fuji Yoshida Trial. Some professional climbers start from level 0. We started to climb from Kawaguchiko Fifth station at an altitude of 2,305m . We did overnight climbing. It is preferred to climb along with Japanese hiking group. They will charge more money but they will make sure you are reaching the Summit. They also give breaks at various places when climbing. I joined along with a foreign Tour group; we started from Shinjuku on a Saturday afternoon 2 pm and reached Fifth station by 5 pm.
We took rest for some time to
get used with the altitude. Started climbing round 6 pm.When I climbed we choose Fuji Yoshida Trial. Some professional climbers start from level 0.
