Trip to Cambodia

I just made one day Trip to Cambodia from Vietnam. Siem Reap is the place I landed since I planned to Visit Angkor Wat. It is the best architectural monument I have seen in my life. No Words can explain the beauty of this place; in my one day trip I tried my level best to cover the temples as much as possible. Siem Reap simply we can call it as temple city.
I started my day at morning 4 o'clock to enjoy the Sun Rise in Angkor Wat .

 

According to the no of days we spent in temple ticket rate changes from 20 USD -60 USD

Angkor Wat

It is the symbol of Cambodia. It was built as Hindu temple by the Khmer Empire Suriyavarman I for Lord Vishnu later this turned into temple for Buddha. They completed the construction in 30 years. It depicts Mount Meru in the Himalayas.

Taken on top of the Angkor Wat infront of the small area which is used to store water.

 It is greatest remaining of Khmer Civilization. In the olden days they used to color the temple with Green, Golden Yellow and blue colors

These shows the change of Hinduism to Buddhism, they removed the head of vishnu in all statues and later it is changed to temple for Buddha

Cambodia the best place in the world , I want to visit again but I wont say the climate is good though

Angkor Thom Gate

It was built in the period of Jayavarman VII, Most of the temples are built by sand stones.

Bayon:

It was last state built in Angkor

Sculpture shows Khmer Army march and culture and activities of people

 some of the sculptures behind me shows the activities of the people , how they built the temple and food habits of the people, women's work in those days etc

Elephant Terrace:

Jayavarman VII used this place to see the returning army people and public events etc. This is also a ruined temple it is located in Angkor Thom.  

Garudas and elephant sculptures will be on the wall.

 

This is the temple located in Elephant Terrace , really a long walk from road where moats on both side and small hike to top of the temple

Ta Keo:

It was from the period of Jayavarman V, It has same style like Bayon temple. It was dedicated to Hindu God Shiva but unfortunately it was not fully constructed.

This is really tough to climb up to the top.

Ta Prohm:

It is also called Rajavihara, when compared to other temples this is completely inside the jungle.

 Trees grown out of the temple, some places are reconstructed like wooden walkway from the gate to the temple etc

There are different places you can see Sun set such as Angkor Wat, Pre Rup and Preah Khan, some of my friends suggested me for Pre Rup
